Olympus Spinning Disk Confocal

The spinning disk confocal microscope provides a tradeoff between confocality and light output and speed. It is excellent for live cell applications where acquistion speed is important. The unit contains a disk with a pattern of slits that creates a virtual pinhole as the disk spins. There are five disks available with different slits sizes which allows for optimization for different objective lenses. The system is equipped with software for automated multi-color imaging and z-stack acquisition and well as 3D analysis and deconvolution.
